therapeutic massage in portland, or
Kirstin Hoops, LMT
I have been practicing massage therapy and energywork in Portland since 2020. My work is a blend of modalities, including craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, Swedish massage, traditional Thai bodywork, Reiki, sound healing and movement. My intention as a therapist is to collaborate with my clients to facilitate self-awareness, self-acceptance, peace and holistic wellbeing. I do my best to attune to every person I touch, inviting change while honoring vulnerability— holding space for all parts, light and dark. My operating principle is mettā: loving kindness.
If you already know me, you likely know me for my bodywork practice, or for my work as a massage educator at East West College of the Healing Arts, and I’m so glad you’re here. As I embark on this next phase, I hope to provide a new offering to my community: end-of-life doula and massage work. Palliative care is what drew me to massage from the start, after a shattering loss in my early twenties changed the course of my life and my family’s story. I am passionately devoted to easing the burden of death on both the dying and their loved ones, providing the support we so dearly needed all those years ago. Grief is a cyclical process, and it transforms us all in one way or another. My hope is to be a safe space for processing, resourcing, planning, preparing, and accepting life’s final chapter. I offer palliative care massage, and by late spring hope to be offering EOL Doula services as well.
All professionalism aside, I’m a silly, bubbly weirdo, and fully experience the joy of this strange little life. If I’m not working, I’m exploring the wild PNW, dancing, steeping in community, playing music, reading fiction, grading papers, cooking something fancy, or snuggling with my cat Cardamom (Cardi C).
